Quadri Tolani Oyebamiji, a popular Nigerian actor known widely as Sisi Quadri, bid the world goodbye yesterday at the age of 44 after battling with Kidney failure.
According to some colleagues who were privy to his health status, the late Quadri passed away after months of battling with kidney failure.
His death was confirmed by his colleague, Tunde Olayusuf, who shared Sisi Quadri’s picture on a social media platform with the caption “Everything in the world is according to the will of Allah. From Allah we have come, and unto him, we shall all return – May God rest your soul Bro @iamsisiquadir.”
Another colleague, Biola Bayo, also wrote “You will be greatly missed Sisi Quadri. May your soul rest in perfect peace. May God comfort all your loved ones.”
Mourning the passage of the popular Nollywood actor yesterday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke described his death as shocking and devastating, noting that his acting style was unique.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased actor, especially his aged father, Alhaji Oyebamiji, the people of Iwoland and the movie industry as a whole, urging them to take consolation in his life of impacts, particularly in the acting profession.
The governor said: “Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji a.k.a. Sisi Quadri was a delight to watch in movies. He was a great talent who illuminated homes and imparted valuable messages.
“With his demise, the memory of the wonderful moments he created on the scenes, and more, the comical relief he inspires through his works will reverberate for years.
“I mourn his loss knowing well the great talent that is gone. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the people of Iwoland, the movie industry, and everyone touched by this devastating experience.
“It is my sincere prayer that they get the strength to bear the hard moment his passage represents. May Almighty Allah grant him aljanah fridaus soul.”
Quadri made his global mark when he featured in the Netflix original directed and produced by award-winning filmmaker Kunle Afolayan – Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre.
Sadly, Quadri passed away on the day the series started airing on Netflix.
