More than two hundred individuals have benefitted from a two-day Free Medical Outreach and evangelical mission conducted by the Charismatic Renewal Ministry (CRM) in partnership with Helping Team International (HTI) in the Gonin Gora Community of Kaduna State.
Pastor Dr. Julius Olajire, the Senior Pastor of Charismatic Renewal Ministry (CRM) in Gonin Gora, explained that the program was a concerted effort to address both the physical and spiritual needs of the people, aiming to strengthen their resolve to stand steadfast with God amidst the prevailing socio-economic challenges in the country.
Pastor Julius Olajire reiterated the commitment of the church to continue fervently praying for divine intervention, seeking an end to the numerous challenges, including insecurity and economic hardships currently confronting the country.
Dr. Fidelis Achonma, a consultant family physician, emphasized the importance of establishing universal health coverage, particularly for low-income families. This, he said, is crucial to effectively tackle the health challenges prevalent in the country.
He identified coping strategies to include a change of lifestyle and attitude to having proper diet, relaxation, regular exercise and routine medical check-ups as well as counseling among others which he described as lifestyle medicine.
“In line with the WHO, people everywhere should have access to Health Care that they need without financial stress attached to it, and that goes by health insurance. We are aware that Kaduna state has rolled out a kind of health insurance which is about seven thousand a year,” he said.
